PROJECT BORINKEN

On Sept. 20, 2017, Hurricane Maria barreled toward Puerto Rico, all but decimating the island. 

We are both of Puerto Rican descent and found ourselves dismayed by the lack of attention the crisis had initially received. We are planning a two-week trip to do our own reporting from the island as its people – our families among them – recover from this disaster. Our goal is to find and tell the stories that have still gone untold.

Because the work we do is typically self-funded, some of our friends and family have asked us how they can contribute to this project, and so we have created this page (see below for donation button). We are also accepting contributions through Venmo or Square Cash. All of the donations we receive will be used to fund our work. We sincerely appreciate your consideration and generosity.
